Mac repair in San Diego

Twenty years of computer repair, most of it on the machines people actually depend on. A Mac that will not start, a MacBook that will not charge, a keyboard that repeats letters, or a fan that never stops are all diagnosable faults. The work is finding out which one is real before replacing anything.

How we diagnose and repair it

  1. Bring the machine in and describe what it does and when it started, including any spill, drop or recent change.
  2. We inspect power, charging, battery health, storage health and startup behaviour before a single part is ordered.
  3. You get the fault, the part and the price before work begins, and an honest answer when a repair is not worth doing.
  4. After the repair we test the exact symptom you brought it in for, plus charging, sleep and wake, and a clean restart.
  5. Your data stays where it is: battery, keyboard and port work does not touch the drive, and we tell you before anything that would.

The diagnostic on a laptop or desktop is $50 to $70 and is credited in full toward the repair when you approve it. Parts and labour are quoted for your exact model, and older machines get a straight answer about whether the repair is worth doing. A 2013 MacBook with a failing board usually is not, and we say that on the day rather than after you have paid for parts.

Where we do this work

Based in Lemon Grove, our core service area runs about twelve miles out — a tight ring on purpose, because it is what lets us hold a same-day window and arrive when we say we will. Larger jobs further out are welcome: call and we will tell you honestly whether the trip makes sense.

Questions we get about this repair

Are you an Apple Authorized Service Provider?

No. We are an independent, owner-run shop and we say so plainly. Twenty years of computer repair includes a great deal of Mac work, but we do not claim Apple authorization or original Apple parts.

Can you recover data from a Mac that will not boot?

Sometimes. Where the drive is readable we move your data off first, onto an external drive you provide. A drive that has failed mechanically is a specialist job, and we tell you that rather than experimenting with your only copy.

Do you repair liquid damage?

We do, and we are honest about the odds. A board that has had liquid on it is cleaned, inspected and then assessed. The outcome depends on what the liquid was and how long it sat, and you get an assessment before the work rather than a promise.

How long does a Mac repair take?

It depends on the fault and the part. Call with the model and the symptom and we will give you a real timeline before you bring it in, and we confirm it once the machine is open.

Do you work on Apple Silicon Macs?

Yes, alongside Intel models. Board-level work on Apple Silicon machines is a different discipline, and we tell you when a fault is one only the manufacturer can address.

Will a repair affect your data or my coverage?

Our work carries a 90-day warranty on the part and the labour. Fixing hardware does not require your data, and we tell you before any step that touches the drive.
