Welcome to Repair X. By using this website or booking a repair with us, you agree to these terms. They're written to be fair and clear — we're a small, owner-run business in Lemon Grove, California, and we want the process between us to be transparent from the start.
The short version: we diagnose before we fix, we give you an honest quote and your go-ahead before any repair work, and every repair is backed by a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty.
1. The service
Repair X provides on-site diagnostic, repair, and maintenance for household appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, and more) and selected consumer electronics (smartphones, tablets, laptops, TVs, and other devices) in the San Diego area. We hold EPA Section 608 certification where applicable, and we use quality parts.
2. Estimates, quotes, and authorization
- You're never obligated to pay for a repair you didn't authorize. We'll diagnose the problem, explain it in plain language, and give you a quote before doing the repair.
- There is a diagnostic fee if you decide not to proceed with the repair. We'll disclose this fee before the work begins. (If you book the repair with us, it is credited toward the repair — you only pay it if you choose not to go ahead.)
- If a repair runs over the quoted amount for any reason, we'll stop and get your approval before continuing. You won't be surprised by a bigger bill.
3. Payment
Payment is due for completed, authorized work. We accept common payment methods (card, etc.). If you pay by card, the transaction is handled by our payment processor — we don't store your card details. We may contact you to resolve an unpaid invoice before any further service.
4. Warranty
- Every repair we perform is backed by a 90-day warranty on both parts and labor from the date the repair is completed.
- Within 90 days, if the same problem we repaired returns, we'll return and correct it at no charge.
- What the warranty doesn't cover: damage from misuse, neglect, or improper use; damage from a different, new problem; failures caused by customer-provided parts; cosmetic issues; or components we didn't work on.
- To make a warranty claim, contact us with the original job details and we'll get back to you.
5. Customer-provided parts
If you supply your own part, we can install it, but we don't verify, guarantee, or take responsibility for it. If it turns out to be defective, incompatible, or the wrong part, any additional fees to re-diagnose, remove, and replace it are yours — and the installation isn't covered by our warranty.
6. Our limitations of liability
We want to be honest about what repair work involves. Appliance and electronics repair can carry risk, and some repairs may not succeed even with skilled work. To the extent permitted by law:
- Our total liability for any claim arising from a repair, service call, or part is limited to the amount you paid us for that specific service.
- We're not responsible for pre-existing or hidden defects, manufacturer defects, unavailable or discontinued parts, or conditions beyond our reasonable control.
- We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost food or lost time) beyond the repair itself. This is a standard limitation in the trade and reflects the reality of on-site repair.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited (for example, for gross negligence or fraud). These limits don't affect your statutory consumer rights under California law.
Repair X carries general liability insurance with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
7. Damage to property
We'll take reasonable care with your home and equipment and take care to avoid damage during a service call. We'll flag anything at risk before we proceed. If, despite reasonable care, incidental damage occurs during a repair, we'll work with you to make it right. We don't assume liability for property damage beyond our reasonable control or caused by pre-existing conditions.
8. Scheduling and cancellations
- We do our best to arrive in the window we give you. If we're running late, we'll let you know as soon as we can.
- If you cancel or reschedule, we appreciate notice. A fee may apply if a technician has already been dispatched and the appointment is cancelled very late — we'll tell you before you book if this applies.
9. Intellectual property
Everything on this website — text, design, graphics, and the Repair X name and logo — belongs to Repair X and may not be copied or reused without permission, except for a single link to a page.
10. Privacy
How we handle the information you give us is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California, unless a different forum is required by law. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we change them, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site or booking a service after a change means you agree to the updated terms. For any change that materially affects a job you've already booked, we'll let you know.
