Repair X is an owner-run appliance and electronics repair business in Lemon Grove, California. This page tells you exactly what information we collect when you use repairxsd.com, what we do with it, and what your rights are. We collect very little, and this page says exactly what that means — including the analytics and bot-protection services this site uses.
1. What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us through the contact and booking form on this site. That means:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address
- The service you're requesting
- The address where the work happens (only for on-site jobs — skip it if you are dropping electronics off at the shop)
- Your message (e.g. "my fridge isn't cooling")
We also receive a limited amount of technical information automatically when you load a page, described in section 2. There are no hidden fields in the booking form. If you only want to talk to us on the phone, you don't have to give us any of the above at all.
2. Cookies and analytics on this site
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (property ID G-DD325VN64X, provided by Google LLC) to count visits, see which pages people find useful, and know which pages lead to a booking request. Two things are worth stating plainly:
- It is cookie-based. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named
_gaand_ga_<container>) in your browser so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. They normally expire after up to 13 months. - It is not used to advertise to you. IP anonymisation is enabled
(
anonymize_ip), we do not run ad networks or ad pixels, we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not sell or share this data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
What Google Analytics records for us: the page you viewed, the site or search that referred you, rough geography (city level), your browser type and device category, and an estimate of how long you stayed. It does not give us the information you type into the booking form.
How to opt out: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, browse in a private window, or install Google's official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking analytics does not affect your ability to book a repair or use this site, and we do not serve you differently if you do.
Our booking form is protected against spam by Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc.), which runs a short, usually invisible browser check. It may process your IP address and browser characteristics to decide whether a submission is automated. It is a security control, not an advertising one. One further script sits underneath every page: Cloudflare, Inc. serves this site and records aggregate, cookieless traffic numbers (page views, country, browser type) as part of that service. It sets no cookies, does not identify you personally, and does not follow you to other sites. See section 5 for every third party involved.
3. What we do not do
We want to be clear about the things this site still does not do, because it is different from most business websites:
- No ad networks or ad pixels. No Google Ads, no Meta pixel, no retargeting, no behavioural advertising — ours or anyone else's.
- No reselling your details. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade it with lead brokers or list sellers.
- No chatbots. There is no bot on this site and no third party reading your form submission.
- No location tracking. We do not ask for your device location and we do not follow you across other websites.
In short: the data we hold about you is the booking you send us, plus anonymous-ish traffic statistics about how the site is used.
4. Why we use it
We use the information you provide for exactly one purpose: to provide the repair service you requested. Specifically:
- To call, text, or email you back to schedule the visit
- To send you your quote and any follow-up you asked for
- To keep a simple record of the job (what we repaired, when, and under warranty)
- To measure whether this website is working — how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether the booking form gets used (see section 2)
We do not use your information to send marketing you didn't ask for, and we do not sell it to anyone.
5. Who we share it with
Normally, no one. Your information stays within Repair X. The only times details might pass to a third party are:
- Email delivery — we use a standard email service (Resend) to deliver booking confirmations to ourselves. They process it to send the email and don't keep it for their own purposes.
- Website analytics — Google LLC processes visit data through Google Analytics 4 on our behalf (section 2).
- Spam and bot protection — Cloudflare, Inc. provides our DNS, content delivery and the Turnstile check on the booking form, and records aggregate cookieless traffic statistics (no cookies, no personal identifiers).
- Payment processing — if you pay by card for a repair, your payment is handled by our payment processor (we don't store card numbers on our side).
- Required by law — if a court or regulator requires us to provide it, we'll do so and only what's required.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your contact details and job record for as long as it's reasonable to — long enough to honor our 90-day warranty and to resolve any dispute about a job — then we don't keep it around indefinitely. If you'd like us to delete your information sooner, just ask (see below).
7. Your rights (including California residents)
Because we collect very little, most rights don't apply in practice — but here's where you stand, and it lines up with the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA should the business ever fall within its scope:
- Right to know — you can ask what we have on you. It's basically your name, number, email, and your job notes.
- Right to access / correction — you can ask for a copy or have us correct any mistakes.
- Right to deletion — you can ask us to delete your details. We'll do it, subject to any record we're required to keep (like warranty records).
- No sale or sharing — we do not sell your personal information and we do not "share" it in the CCPA/CPRA sense (cross-context behavioural advertising). Because we do neither, there is nothing for you to opt out of — but you can still switch off the analytics cookies at any time using the instructions in section 2.
- No discrimination — you can exercise any of these rights without losing the service you've booked or the warranty on your repair.
8. Security
We keep your information on secured, access-controlled systems and don't display it publicly. It's a small operation, so the volume of data we hold is small, but it is real data about real customers and we treat it that way. We restrict access to it, keep it out of public systems, and if we ever learned your details were compromised we would tell you. Analytics data is held in aggregate by Google under the settings described in section 2.
9. Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. We review it at least once a year.
