The expensive way to repair consumer electronics is to keep replacing parts until the symptom goes away. A phone that will not charge might need a charging port, a battery, a charging circuit on the board, or simply a different cable, and only testing tells you which. We test first and quote after, so you pay for the part that fixes the fault rather than the parts tried on the way to it.
Diagnostics on consumer electronics run from $40 to $60, and the exact price is quoted before any work begins. If the diagnosis shows a repair that costs more than the device is worth, you will hear that plainly, along with the reason. There is no obligation to go ahead, and no charge beyond the quoted diagnostic for the testing itself.
A cracked screen is rarely just the glass. Most modern phones bond the display panel to the digitizer and the frame, so a screen replacement means transferring the display assembly, the front camera, the proximity sensor, and the earpiece gasket onto the new part, then checking the display afterward. Skip those steps and you get a device that looks fixed and does not behave the same.
Battery replacement is simpler but not trivial on a sealed device. Adhesive holds the pack in place, the connectors are small and easy to damage, and a battery that has swollen has to be removed carefully rather than pried. Battery health below roughly 80 percent is where most people first notice early shutdowns and short runtime, and a replacement is usually worth it on a device that is otherwise sound.
A charging port fails for two reasons: mechanical wear from years of cables going in and out, and contamination from pocket lint and moisture. A port that only charges when the cable is held at an angle is usually worn, while a port that works fine after cleaning was usually just dirty. On many phones the port sits on a separate flex that can be replaced by itself, and on others it is soldered to the main board.
Board-level faults are the ones that need a microscope and a soldering station. A device that is completely dead after water exposure, a phone that gets warm and will not charge, or a computer that will not power on with a known-good charger all point at the board. Water damage is the case where prompt attention matters most, because corrosion keeps spreading while the device sits.
A television with sound but no picture is usually a backlight failure. One with a picture but no sound is usually the main board or the source. A set that clicks and never turns on points at the power supply or the standby circuit. Those three symptoms narrow most television faults before the back cover even comes off, which is why we ask what you can hear when the screen stays dark.
Television repair also depends on the size of the set. A 65-inch panel is awkward to handle and risky to lay flat without a padded surface, and a panel that has cracked or developed lines cannot be repaired economically at any size. Backlight strips and power supplies are the repairs that make sense on a television, and we will say so when a set is past the point of being worth the work.
Your phone holds more than your hardware does. Before any phone, tablet, or computer comes onto the bench, back up what you can, and sign out of accounts you do not need us to reach. We do not need your passcode to replace a screen, a battery, or a charging port, and we will not ask for it to do that work.
When a repair requires the device running, we test at the lock screen rather than inside your accounts. Devices waiting on parts are stored in the workshop, not left where a customer or a courier can pick them up. If a board-level fault means your data may not be recoverable, we tell you before we start, so you can make that call with the right information in front of you.
No surprises. You'll always know what's wrong and what it'll cost before we start — and you're only charged if you go ahead.

These are typical ranges — your exact quote comes after we diagnose the device, and you always approve it before we start.
| Device | Typical diagnostic |

| Laptop / desktop | $50–$70 |
| TV | $50–$75 |
